The Bandung Tourism Promotion Board, together with tourism and travel industry players from Bandung and West Java, participated in the MATTA Fair Malaysia 2026, held from September 4–6, 2026, at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This participation is part of an effort to strengthen the promotion of Bandung and West Java as premier Indonesian destinations in the international market—particularly Malaysia, which has long been one of Indonesia’s largest sources of foreign tourists.
Featuring the promotional theme “Welcome to West Java,” the participation showcased a wide range of tourism highlights, including nature, culture, history and heritage, culinary experiences, wellness tourism, shopping, special interest tourism, and various travel packages designed for international visitors.
The MATTA Fair is one of Southeast Asia’s largest tourism industry exhibitions, bringing together local governments, travel industry players, airlines, hotels, destination managers, and prospective travelers on a single promotional and business platform.
Through its participation in this event, the Bandung Tourism Promotion Board aims to expand networks with international partners, boost travel package sales, strengthen destination branding, and drive an increase in tourist visits to Bandung and West Java.
It is hoped that this event will open up broader collaboration opportunities, introduce West Java’s rich culture and natural beauty to the global market, and generate a positive, sustainable impact on the growth of the region’s tourism sector and economy.
